…Regardless of whether or not there is any truth to any of the claims of any of these paths, these particular mystical traditions emanate for those who seek more than the ritualistic practices of the masses. If the masses seek a connection with the unseen, the aspirants of these mystical schools seek entrance into it. Now, in our digital era, “The Matrix” expands the aspirations into a virtual mysticism. Again, this is an expected result. “It’s the questions that drive us,” says Trinity. In the language of mysticism, it is yearning. As Rumi says, “Do not seek water; seek thirst.” The mystics have larger questions: there is something more, what is it? Some mystics, because of their enormous curiosities, seek a rush to feel real. That is the story of Mr. Anderson (Neo). Read more

In the Wild, Wild West-era of digital media, there is no cowboy quite like Kim Dotcom. Part Sean Parker, part Kevin Mitnick, with a whiff of Notorious B.I.G., Dotcom embodies the most savage age of online piracy, having made a fortune on the edges of Internet freedom.
Dotcom, the megamind behind Megaupload, was arrested yesterday in New Zealand, his panic-room door busted down by officials, who found the hacker clinging to a sawed-off shotgun. Dotcom faces up to 55 years in prison if extradited to the U.S. and convicted on charges of racketeering, copyright infringement, and money laundering. The hacker-turned-multimillionaire businessman has been accused of costing the entertainment industry $500 million through pirated content uploaded to his popular file-sharing site, which boasted 180 million registered users and celebrity endorsements from Kanye West to Kim Kardashian.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton arrived in Liberia early Monday to attend the inauguration of Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
The 73-year-old Sirleaf, who was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize shortly before her re-election last year, has become a symbol of women’s potential in Africa. She is the first and only elected female head of state on the continent.
‘I haven’t showered in 7 days.’
‘Is it free?’
‘Is there free food?’
‘Are there free drinks?’
‘Did I sleep on the bathroom floor last night?’
‘Wait, the handle’s gone? Booze run!’
‘She’s a stupid bitch.’
‘I’m SO drunk right now.’
‘I’m totally NOT drunk right now.’
‘Wait… what?’
‘Are you going out tonight?’
“It’s time for RIM to abandon BlackBerry 10 and adopt either Android or Windows Phone. It doesn’t matter that PlayBook 2.0 received some better-than-expected press coverage at CES last week, or that there have been some interesting hints here and there about what the first phones running RIM’s new mobile OS will look like. And while it’s bad enough that the first phones running BlackBerry 10 won’t ship until sometime around the end of the year, the real problem is that even if RIM started shipping phones tomorrow with an OS that could hold a candle to iOS, Android, and Windows Phone, it probably wouldn’t make much of a difference. RIM would still be in very serious trouble.”

Samsung Transparent LCD Window
Regular LCD panels need BLUs (Back Light Units) as a light source in order to display an image; without a light source, nothing would be visible. Transparent LCDs lack BLUs, usesing instead other light sources available (sunlight, in-door lighting). In darkness you can activate the transparent BLU, designed specifically for transparent panels, as a light source.
An advantage to the transparent display is its energy efficiency. When the transparent BLU is not activated, the transparent LCD uses only 10% of the electricity used by a regular LCD screen of equivalent size. Rumor has it, it’s going into mass production in just a few months.
